Criminal Defense Attorney - Sacramento / Napa, CAA respected California criminal defense firm is hiring an experienced attorney to take full ownership of a varied caseload - DUI, drug offenses, violent crimes, and more - while working remotely and appearing in courts across the Sacramento region and beyond. You set your calendar; the firm backs you with resources, mentorship, and top-tier benefits.What you'll do:- Manage a full caseload from intake through resolution, including DUI, felony, and misdemeanor matters- Appear in court for arraignments, hearings, contested motions, and jury trials across California (primarily Sacramento metro and Napa)- Conduct client intake consultations and keep clients informed throughout their case- Review discovery, analyze evidence, and build effective, individualized defense strategies- Prepare clients for DMV APS hearings and negotiate directly with prosecutors for the best available outcome- Collaborate with fellow attorneys on complex matters and trial preparation- Maintain accurate case records and timely written work productWhat you need:- Active California State Bar license in good standing- 2+ years of criminal defense experience in California courts- Felony case experience from inception through resolution- Jury trial and contested-motion experience- Familiarity with DUI defense and DMV APS hearingsNice to have:- Experience across multiple California counties- Existing relationships with Sacramento or Napa-area prosecutors and court staff- Bilingual Spanish/English communication skills- Experience mentoring junior attorneys or law clerksLocation & schedule:- Remote-first with required in-person court appearances throughout California, primarily Sacramento metro and Napa, CA-Full-time; schedule is self-managed around court obligations-Must be California-based and available to appear in-state courts as assignedAbout & how to apply:This is one of California's recognized criminal defense practices, with offices in Sacramento and Napa and a collaborative, attorney-first culture.
